About

At Pothos Galleries, our belief is simple: some views are too beautiful to leave behind.
We started this brand because travel does more than take you somewhere—it changes you. And when you return home, you deserve something more than a generic souvenir. You deserve art that helps you relive the moment.

(Hi! This is us - Jake & Carolyn, on the hike that inspired it all)
Our Story
Not everyone can say they had a chance to travel the world with the love of their life, but Pothos founder Jake Gann, is lucky enough to say just that. The idea for Pothos was birthed on a hike in Izu, Japan, when Jake and Carolyn walked along the coastal cliffs chatting about one their favorite topics - new business ideas. They realized, as many do, that part of the joy of travelling is reliving the trip for years to come and what better way to do that than with beautiful photo prints of the landscapes that captured their imagination. By placing prints in homestays around the world, they could bring an elevated souvenir to millions of guests and create an ecosystem that supports guests, artists, hosts and contributes to local non-profits that uphold the lands and communities that welcome travelers each year.

(This is us on the same hike, a few miles and one business-creation later)
To that end, we partner with photographers who live in or deeply explore these landscapes. Their images reflect not just what a place looks like, but what it feels like. Then we place those prints directly where the memory occurs; displayed in select vacation rentals, accessible via a simple QR‑code. You see the artwork, you scan, you hang it in your home.
What We Offer
For the Traveler — You’re someone who doesn’t just visit a place; you write your story in destinations and experiences.
For the Patron — Your purchase supports the artist, the host, and the community.
For the Mindful Consumer — Every print gives back: the host gets a commission, the artist is paid fairly, and a portion of proceeds supports a local nonprofit in the place where the image was taken. (Because the land that gave you the memory deserves your thanks.)
Why It Matters
Because home is more than walls, it’s a space that tells your story. When you hang a Pothos print, you aren’t just decorating your home; you’re inviting a memory, a place, a meaning into your daily life. You’re also part of a circle: the place you visited, the host who welcomed you, the artist who captured the moment, the community that stewarded the land.
Our Mission
We exist to help you bring home something meaningful.
Not a souvenir you forget. Not something mass‑produced. But a piece of art that reflects where you’ve been, how you changed, and who you are.
Because travel ends, but the impact doesn’t have to.
